Morning Maths
We start our maths lesson as Eagles with a warm up or in other words four questions that gets our brains working. Normally these questions include plus, minus, multiplication and division. Then we have the fun of a 'thunk of the day'. I really enjoy it because it's interesting to see what other people think and why. What we do is we take tricky questions and get our crew's opinions as well as explaining why we think so. Here are some examples ...
1. Can you cast a shadow into a dark room?
2. Is a wooden table still a tree?
3. Is marmite nice - yes or no?
4. Can you choose who to love? Can you choose not to love someone?
5. What colour is Tuesday?
After this, we take part in 'Fluent in Five' where we answer 6 arithmetic questions in 5 minutes to make our brains stronger and smarter.
Then we move to the carpet and learn about the next unit of maths. We spend some time practising different questions and help each other before starting our learning independently.
Here is how we use the short method (bus stop) for division.
At the end of the lesson, we go through our answers and then in the next lesson we correct any errors as mistakes make our brain grow.
i really like how you asked questions and it looked really professional.
